6:30 - RSA High School Interest Informational Meeting January 29th
RSA’s Governing Board and Administration is gathering information from our community and exploring partnerships with Shasta Community College (SCC) to determine if there is a need for a small (approximately 200 students at build out) high school. RSA remains dedicated to the mission of interdisciplinary instruction, exposure to visual and performing arts, the development of multi-cultural understanding through language study that prepares youth to engage in their community. We are currently considering partnering with Shasta Community College to add a small Early College high school. This classroom based high school would serve students who are seeking to continue language studies, engage in interdisciplinary studies that includes the arts, attend school 5 days a week on campus for grades nine and ten, with 11th and 12th grade students taking a combination of onsite classes and Shasta Community College classes which would allow students to pursue their career options and earn college units prior to graduation. Potentially this campus would be located behind the current campus. Due to RSA’s commitment to interdisciplinary studies and the desire to maintain a small early college high school, RSA does not foresee this high school participating in competitive sports teams.
