Welcome to 1st Grade Mandarin Class!
I’m so excited to welcome returning students back for another year and to greet new friends joining our classroom community. We’re going to have a wonderful year filled with learning, fun, and friendship!
This year, we’ll continue to grow our Mandarin skills through engaging topics such as family, age, colors, clothing, sports, weather, plants, vehicles, animals, food, and fruit. Our curriculum will include Mandarin Matrix Dual Language Immersion Foundation Readers, My First Chinese Words Series, and Level Learning Readers. For math, we’ll be using EnVision Math 2.0 as our main program. Alongside academics, we’ll also focus on building important social skills—practicing routines, working together, and creating a strong, supportive classroom community.
We’ll also explore and celebrate Chinese cultural traditions, including the Moon Festival, Chinese New Year, the Dragon Boat Festival, and more. I can’t wait to begin this exciting journey of learning and growing together!
Warmly,
Ms. Luo / Luo Lǎoshī
