Dear Parents and Students,

I hope you all have had a fabulous summer. I am looking forward to meeting you and getting to know you better soon.

In our Mandarin classroom, we are going to have so much fun and learn a lot of new things together this year. In addition to the Mandarin Matrix curriculum planning and cultural learning, we will also introduce Hànyǔ Pīnyīn (Chinese phonetic system), the tones, and some practical yet essential radicals to help us decode Chinese characters, building our reading and speaking fluency and accuracy, and preparing us for keyboarding. Yes, we are going to learn to type Chinese, too.  We will incorporate songs, Chinese tongue twisters, arts & crafts, role plays, and more to get everyone engaged and moving around. 

It is really important that everyone in our classroom has a positive attitude and a growth mindset! Please remember that mistakes are a natural part of learning a foreign language.
